In this edition of Stories & Myths we explore 'Whitehaven,' the St. Louis home of Ulysses and Julia Grant. This was also the childhood home of Julia and it was purchased from her father, Colonel Frederick Dent, after he lost his fortune in the Civil War. The property includes beautiful stables that Ulysses built for his horses -- which have been converted into a museum by the National Park System.
